The chief policymakers of Korea’s three main
political parties and finance minister Yoo Il-ho will hold a second round of talks this
afternoon on ways to solve the nation’s most pressing economic issues.
Officials say they are expected to address pending mid-to-long range tasks aimed at improving
the people’s livelihoods. Among the key agendas are tackling the rising
jobless rate and how to effectively implement the corporate restructuring of Korea’s ailing
shipbuilding industry. The parties will also discuss how to roll
out safety measures for subway workers,… following the death last month of a young
maintenance worker on a station platform.
